3rd Round of Eillen Stafford Doily

The third round is finished. Only 3 more to go. The cut and tie method is easier and gives a better finish that I had expected.

2nd Round Back

This is the back of the 2nd round of the Eileen Stafford Doily using the tie and cut methods. I used a small amount of clear nail polish. It is hard only on the tiny area where I cut the threads. I had to feel the doily to find the place where the cut and tie had been done. So far, I like this method very much. I had started the third round but it did not come out looking good so I easily cut it off. I am going to do it again using the method I learned from Joy McKenzie which is to drop the shuttle through the center before closing the ring.

2nd Round Front

This the front of the Eileen Stafford Doily using the cut and tie method. I think it has a very clean look.

This is the lasted piece of tatting I am working on. It is designed by Eileen Stafford and she did it in blue size 30. I did not have blue in size 30 but I have this thread which is Coats and Clark Opera size 20. It is very thin for a size 20 and lovely to tat. As it comes along, I will post more pictures.
Today Mike and I worked on the yard. Mike planted tomatoes, red bell peppers and marigolds and I dealt with the weeds in the herb garden.
